Stormy Life

Stormy Life

Now seems like the right time to remind you when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Also, when God closes a door, he opens a window. Double also, there’s no time like the present, to make a new future. Well…maybe now isn’t the best time for those reminders.
Those phrases ring a little hollow at a time like this. I talk about the certainty of uncertainty frequently because it is a universal truth. Beyond euphemisms and folksy sayings, we have more concrete matters to rely on: the faithfulness of God.
We read in Proverbs that when the storms of life pass by, the righteous stand firm forever. Of course, consistent with God’s plan for us, we don’t have to rely on our own preparedness or abilities. Jesus has done the work for us, making us righteous, no matter what comes our way.
Almost on a daily basis, you and I deal with storms of varying levels of strength. No matter how rough it may get or how defeated we feel, the righteous stand firm forever. The promise is certain and true, and it cannot be shaken by wind or storm.
As we prepare to face another storm this week, remember that God is with us in the midst of this. No matter what comes our way, God will see us through. Even loss of life is not the end for God. May God fill us with all peace through this storm, and may we be there for each other when the need arises. Stand firm!
Blessings to you,
Joe
